Information Technology: Impact and Uses

In this generation, which bears a wide array of possibilities in comparison to previous ones, the existing life on earth—humans—are blessed enough. Blessed in a way that they are able to utilize advancements that simply make complex, in the context of history, easy. 

 

As an individual who has lived in this digital era and still is, information technology, or the use of devices or gadgets that store, process, and transmit information from one tool to another, is one of the many things that I am grateful to utilize. Truly, a gift that not all life has gotten the chance to experience.

 

Information technology, in my subjective opinion, is a bridge that provides you the chance to find the beauty in technological advancements. As an individual who experienced firsthand the beauty that lies in IT, I can say that it is immensely useful. It is immensely useful due to the fact that it is indeed a weapon that helps in various aspects. Such aspects include communication, education, and entertainment.

Through information technology (IT), communication was made easy. If before, letters were received months after it was sent, in this modern time, one click or one press is all you need. Hence, with this, we have instant communication with anyone in any part of the world. It’s just a matter of utilizing social media platforms, calls, and texts.

 

Apart from it, education is also heavily influenced by IT. Information technology provides access to knowledge that we otherwise could not procure from local libraries. Through this, we possess accessibility to various knowledge, which could either be found from books online, YouTube, or applications.

 

Furthermore, when boredom hits, information technology can help through entertainment. Information technology is beneficial as it enhances an individual's mood through the dissemination of shared information. Entertainment could be in the form of content creation or using social media platforms.
